Epistemic Delusion

Epistemic delusion marks severe detachment between assigned credence and perceived evidence.

Beyond Ordinary Bias

Epistemic delusion, in this model, is not a clinical diagnosis. It names a structural state in which Assigned Credence drifts so far from Perceived Evidence that the belief is no longer answerable to the agent own evidential sense.

The Collapse of the Doxastic Gap

Ordinary bias may tug credence. Delusion-level distortion overwhelms the tether. The agent may be operating from fear, fantasy, group pressure, or identity defense so powerful that evidence no longer has normal traction.

Use the Label Carefully

This term should be used cautiously. The site uses it for model behavior, not as a casual insult. The important question is how far credence has detached from perceived evidence, and what conditions would restore answerability.
