Descriptive Rather than Prescriptive Orientation
The framework first describes belief structure before prescribing what a person should do.
Description First
The model begins by asking what is happening: what evidence exists, what is perceived, what confidence is assigned, and where the gaps open. This descriptive posture prevents premature overclassification.
Prescription Still Matters
Description is not the end. Once the structure is visible, we can ask what repair is appropriate. Deep failures invite better tools and evidence. Core failures invite courage, emotional regulation, incentive changes, and social conditions that make updating possible.
Why the Order Matters
If we prescribe too quickly, we may offer the wrong remedy. More facts will not fix every core-rational failure. More courage will not fix every information deficit. The diagnosis determines the repair.
