Project Overview

Credencing is a public framework for understanding how confidence forms, distorts, and becomes answerable to evidence.

The Project in One Sentence

Credencing is a framework for mapping the distance between evidence, perception, and belief. It asks what the evidence supports, what an agent takes it to support, what confidence the agent finally adopts, and what kind of rational skill is operating.

Why It Exists

Public argument often uses blunt labels: rational, irrational, biased, skeptical, dogmatic. The project exists because those labels are too coarse. A person can be honestly mistaken, cleverly self-deceived, uncertain for good reasons, or correct for bad reasons.

The two-gap model gives a more careful vocabulary: Objective Evidence to Perceived Evidence (E0-EP) for evidence perception and Perceived Evidence to Assigned Credence (EP-CA) for belief integrity.

What the Site Provides

The site provides a central interactive model, conceptual explanations, case studies, skills, applications, and a library for future formal work. It is designed as a public web rather than a single essay because the concepts support one another laterally.
