# Credencing One-Page Guide

Credencing is the practice of assigning confidence in proportion to evidence.

## The Four Variables

- E0: Objective Evidence, the evidential target.
- EP: Perceived Evidence, what the agent takes the evidence to show.
- CA: Assigned Credence, the confidence the agent adopts.
- SD: Deep Rationality, the agent's evidence-processing skill.

## The Two Gaps

- E0 to EP: perception, information, or inference failure.
- EP to CA: motivated or integrity-related belief assignment failure.

## Diagnostic Questions

1. What does the evidence actually support?
2. What does the agent take it to support?
3. How strongly does the agent actually believe?
4. Which gap is doing the most work?
5. Would repair require better tools, better evidence, more courage, or changed incentives?
